Slack emojis
In Slack you can type emojis as shortcodes between colons, react to any message, and add your team’s own custom emoji.
How to use emojis in Slack
- Shortcodes: type a colon and a name, like :tada: for 🎉 or :+1: for 👍.
- Reactions: hover a message and click the smiley to react, or type +:emoji: as a reply to the last message.
- Copy and paste: any emoji you copy here works in Slack.
How to add custom emoji in Slack
- Click your workspace name › Tools & settings › Customize workspace (the exact menu can vary by plan and admin settings).
- Open the Emoji tab and choose Add Custom Emoji.
- Upload a square image and give it a name.
Your workspace admins may restrict who can add emoji.
