Discord emojis
On Discord you can type an emoji by its shortcode between colons, like :joy: or :skull:, pick it from the emoji menu, or paste any emoji you copy here.
How to use emoji shortcodes on Discord
Type a colon and the first letters of the name, for example :sk, and Discord suggests 💀 :skull:. Press Enter to insert it. Most standard shortcodes match the ones in the table below and on each emoji page.
How to add custom emoji to a Discord server
- Open Server Settings › Emoji (you need the Manage Expressions permission).
- Click Upload Emoji and choose a square PNG, JPG or GIF image.
- Give it a name: everyone on the server can use it as :name:.
Servers have a limited number of custom emoji slots, which grows with Server Boosts. Using custom emoji from other servers requires Discord Nitro. For transparent images to use as custom emoji, see our emoji PNG downloads.
